If Rachel Berry were 100% honest with herself she’d admit that talent…turned her on completely especially anyone musically talented. And if she were even more honest, she’d say that Mr. Hudson was her ideal guy. He was handsome, tall, funny, musically inclined, and had the voice of an angel. Instead, her focus was on her future life calling. She needed to be on Broadway. She lived, breathed showtunes. If she let attraction or feelings get in the way, it would truly be her downfall. Besides he was her teacher! She was already low on the school chain…that would put her in the sewers.
She pushed the thought out of her head. This didn’t even matter. She needed to go over too many things with him anyway. He was a gateway to her lifelong dream and that was the only thing she needed him for.
So she dressed up in her usual plaid skirt, blouse, matching sweater vest and headed off, but not before adjusting her headband just right. She may have not been aware of it but for the first time…she was conscious of her looks. It didn’t matter, she pushed all weird thoughts aside and headed to the Lima Bean.
As soon as she spotted him, she beamed, her lips curving into a wide smile as she waved and walked over, not noticing the odd stares. She slammed down a huge pile of music books, sheets, and folders down on the table before smoothing out her skirt and seating herself. ” Hope you didn’t wait too long, there were a couple of song sheets I couldn’t find…well no that’s not entirely true I was more battling on which ones to cut and which ones to bring.”
Before Finn had time to compose himself, Rachel was there with the biggest stack of paper and books he’d seen, and he couldn’t help but let out a genuine laugh at her enthusiasm.
“Nice to see you too,” he grinned, smiling at her before glancing down at the things she’d brought with her. “It’s fine, I’m glad you came prepared. I got you an orange juice, since I wasn’t sure about your coffee order.”
Pushing over the small cup of juice, he tried not to give her a once over (no matter how much he wanted to) as he bit his lip and diverted his gaze to the sheet music. “So, uh, you said you had some ideas?” He looked back at her, though not before taking in her appearance, which made him gulp uncomfortably at how attractive he found her.
